Since its opening in 2010, Little Barn Owls Nursery and Farm School has become the largest and first choice childcare provider for families in Horsham, West Sussex, presently caring for over 400 families across three settings and employing 80 staff. Little Barn Owls offers high quality care and education for children ages 0-5 years.
Little Barn Owls Nursery Group is made up of three Horsham based settings and has been operating for 10 years. As well as a combined waiting list of over 1,000 families, we also operate a thriving training school for professionals and have published three books and a DVD of our work. We consult both nationally and internationally for global early years and educational conferences and organisations who want to learn from our carefully curated approach. Its latest nursery, The Orchard, opens in the Summer of 2023 and there are plans to open more nurseries across West Sussex.
In September 2020 the company opened a democratic, forward-thinking school ‘Atelier 21’ for children ages 4-16 years. Atelier 21 is a progressive school which is creating a stir in the educational landscape for its trailblazing approach to education which without compromising on academics focuses on teaching children ‘how to think, not what to think’ and develop the skills they need that are fit for our futures not our pasts. Its aim is to make to make learning more relevant, meaningful, and joyful by re-imagining the school day with five interconnected ways in which pupils learn Workshop Wednesdays, Self-directed Learning, Wild Fridays (outdoor learning for the whole school community), Personal projects (Big Studies) and Entrepreneurship.
